For our first meet of 2016, the lovely people at ThoughtWorks are hosting us again. This meet will be slightly different - rather than presentations, we are having a steel cage deathmatch style panel entitled “To bind or not to bind” featuring David Acland (Amsys), Yannis Lagogiannis (LSE) and Francois Levaux-Tiffreau (Amaris).
Binding (or the lack of) to a directory service has been a hot topic recently in the Mac Admin community, especially since IBM said they were no longer binding their Macs and with the release of Enterprise Connect by Apple. Our panel of experts (and Ben and Graham) will be discussing the benefits, drawbacks of binding with the attendees and look at some of the new methods that have come to the forefront in the past few months.
The schedule is as follows:
18:30 - 19:00: Arrive and mingle
19:00 - 20:00: To bind or not to bind panel
20:00 - 21:00: Open discussion
21:00 - ?: To the pub!

We are still looking for somewhere to host our meet in September - we are hoping to have it in the first two weeks of September, but are flexible on those dates. Our needs are very modest - a screen / projector, internet connectivity and space for around 40 people are all we need.
If you know of anywhere that might be able to help us, please let us know!
Our June 11th meet was hosted at University of East London, Stratford [Directions], & hosted by Neil Martin. Thanks Neil!

As you may see from the survey, the schedule has changed as we’ve learnt a few things.
A recording of the meet up can be found on our YouTube channel & has been embedded below

On September 3rd we had our first meet up, some 60 people had signed up to the event & around 45 attended & we had 8 speakers.
Many, many thanks for Charley & James @ Amsys for securing the venue & for all speakers & attendees. It was everything we all hoped for from a debut event.
If you missed the event, the transitions between speakers were flawlessly smooth & no one hollered through a door whilst people where presenting.
If you attended, you’ll know the truth to the above & I truly hope you enjoyed the event.
In the next few days, a survey will be sent out to those whom attended & watch this space for the next event.
Please also visit or join the following to carry on the conversations from the night.
Details of the nights speakers can be found below, as well as links to reach out to them directly.
