London Apple Admins needs you!

Your community needs you!

We’re looking for folks who’d like to speak at our meet-ups! London Apple Admins is a welcoming, friendly community; an ideal place to dip your toe into public speaking if you’re new or seasoned. You’ll be surrounded by like minded people who share your passion and want you to succeed. Your chosen subject doesn’t necessarily need to be technical or Mac-specific.

Whatever your experience in the world of working with Apple stuff, if you’re interested, we’d love to hear from you. Jump into the MacAdmin’s Slack, pop into the #london channel or contact one of the official “herders”: @daz_wallace @grahamgilbert @macmule @neilmartin83 or @squirke.

12th July 2017 – Meet Up @ ThoughtWorks London

Our July meet of 2017 was hosted by the lovely people at ThoughtWorks - thanks Steve! Here’s the video:

20th April 2017 - Meetup @ Sony Music London

On April 20th, Sony Music kindly hosted us in their London office. Massive thanks to Ross Drummond at Sony for a fantastic evening and for Henry Stamerjohann for his most informative workshop!

Unfortunately, due to network issues, the live stream of the event was not successful and regretfully, Ross’ presentation was not recorded as a result. However, Henry’s Zentral workshop was caught - watch it below:

Sony Music’s office can be found at 9 Derry Street, with High Street Kensington tube station round the corner.

19th January 2017 - Meetup @ Just Eat London

On January 19th, Just Eat hosted us in their London office. Thank you, Sachin Parmar! We had a great turnout and the venue was fantastic. Watch the video below:

Just Eat’s office can be found at Fleet Place House, with a few tube stations within walking distance.

As always, the event was free to attend.

It wouldn’t be Just Eat if there wasn’t food involved, and certainly was no disappointment there! Sachin kindly arranged a banquet fit for the hungriest of admins - an assortment of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, with loads of pizza (vegetarian and meat)! Nom!

On November 9th, Gett hosted us in their UK office.

The last “talk” was for a farewell to Graham, before his move to the USofA & some information about the London Apple Admins “personnel”.

7th September 2016 - Meetup @ ITV Southbank

Our next meet will be on the 7th September 2016 at ITV’s Southbank Studios.

The Schedule is as follows:

  • 19:35 - 19:45 ITV and Mac management - How ITV went from Windows XP to Mac to managed Macs

  • 19:50 - 20:10 Utilising Casper API for business workflow - How we make automation rock the Kasbah (Casper!)

  • 20:15 - 20:30 Santa - Because AV Sucks, Allister Banks

  • 20:30 – 21:00 Open Discussion

  • 21:00 – ?? – To the Pub!

ITV will be supplying food & drink for the event, but please be aware that you will** need your ticket with you **to be granted access to the site.

ITV Studios are located near the OXO Tower, & can be walked to from Blackfriars, Southwark or the Waterloo stations.
